The National Wildlife Federation honored Mr. John Baughman, the outgoing Executive Vice President of AFWA, for his leadership in the development of state wildlife action plans. During the 2006 Annual Meeting of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) in September, the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) hosted a reception on the slopes of Snowmass. Tom Gonzales, soon to be chair of NWF's board, and George Meyer, a former Vice President of AFWA, opened the celebration. Together they presented a conservation award to Mr. John Baughman, the outgoing Executive Vice President of AFWA, for his leadership in the development of state wildlife action plans. During his tenure at AFWA, John has elevated these strategic conservation plans as a national priority among state and federal wildlife agencies. This celebration
underscored the importance of NWF's partnership with the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and the significance of our joint state wildlife action plan work.
