Project Description: This project developed and printed A guide to Wisconsin’s Natural Areas program.
Summary: State Natural Areas protect the last vestiges of Wisconsin's native landscapes - its prairies and savannas, forests and bogs - and provide refuge for both common and rare species of plants and animals. WCRP provided funding for the production of Wisconsin, naturally, a guidebook containing maps, driving directions, and descriptions of 150 of the highest quality State Natural Areas. Hikers, birders, and nature lovers use the 184-page color guidebook to explore and understand these unique areas and their inhabitants. Nearly 4,900 books (of 5,000 printed) have been sold to date and we are currently working on reprinting the book. WCRP also funded a companion foldout map and brochure describing the State Natural Areas Program
