Frequently Asked Questions
Do I pay fees to join Teaming With Wildlife?
No. Participation in Teaming With Wildlife costs absolutely nothing.
How do I join the Missouri Teaming With Wildlife Coalition?
To have your group join, simply fill out the endorsement form.
Will endorsing Teaming With Wildlife involve my organization with politics?
Endorsing Teaming With Wildlife is not like making a political endorsement. By endorsing TWW, your organization or business is saying that it is concerned about wildlife protection and thinks that wildlife conservation, education and recreation should be a priority. In that sense, endorsing Teaming With Wildlife is a way to stay civically engaged in the world around us.
There are opportunities to become politically involved in advocating for increased funding for wildlife conservation, education and recreation. To participate in these opportunities is a decision each TWW member makes for his or her own organization. While advocating for increased wildlife funding is an important function of TWW, it is not the only function. We hope you will consider advocating for wildlife habitat funding, but you are not required to.
What kinds of organizations join Teaming With Wildlife?
Teaming With Wildlife is a broad-based coalition. Organizations and businesses ranging from Bed and Breakfasts, conservation-supportive businesses, guiding services, garden clubs, land trusts, watershed groups, conservation organizations, sportsmen and women clubs, fishing groups and bird watchers all join. The only prerequisite is a genuine concern for wildlife and special natural places.
What does Teaming With Wildlife do?
The Teaming With Wildlife coalition works to secure increased funding for wildlife and habitat protection. It also works to help implement Missouri’s Comprehensive Wildlife Strategy. Our goal is for members of the TWW coalition to come together and build partnerships to more efficiently and effectively protect wildlife habitats. The TWW coalition is one venue in which people can learn about other habitat projects going on across the state and find ways to participate.
What will my organization be required to do?
Nothing. By lending your name to our coalition and stating your concern for wildlife protection, you are already participating. There are opportunities to help spread the word about TWW, help implement the Comprehensive Wildlife Strategy, advocate for increased funding and aid in managing land. We hope you will also consider participating in some of those TWW activities as well.
What will I get out of joining the Teaming With Wildlife coalition?
By joining the Teaming With Wildlife coalition, your organization or business will be connected with the other organizations that have joined. It is a great way to network, meet other groups doing similar work and find ways to partner together. By advocating for increased funding for wildlife protection, you may see the benefits of that money through projects you work on with other conservation partners. Your organization’s name will be included in all of the publicity and promotional materials, so it’s a great way to get known as a supporter of wildlife and habitat conservation!
